How We Verify
Last updated Oct 19, 2026
Every answer on CountOnTools goes through the same two steps before a page goes live, and again whenever it is re-checked.
1. Official source
Each fact comes from the organization that sets the rule: the test maker for score scales and percentiles, the application service for its GPA rules, the state or a recognized compiler of state law for school entry dates, the published research for reading norms. We do not use test-prep sites, forums or other calculators as sources. Every page lists its sources at the bottom, with the date each was checked. We use software, including AI tools, to collect sources and draft pages.
2. Dated on the page
Each page shows “Last verified” with a date. A page is re-checked at least every 90 days, and whenever its source changes. A page that is being re-checked shows a notice until the check is done.
When an official rule is not published
Some test makers do not publish how raw answers turn into scaled scores, or the conversion changes from one test form to the next. In those cases our calculators work only from what is published, such as adding section scores or looking up a published percentile. If a page ever shows an estimate, it is labeled as an estimate on the page, with the method explained.
Facts we work out from our own data
Some pages show comparisons such as “the highest maximum score of the tests we cover”. These are calculated from the verified facts on our pages, so they change only when those facts change.
